Warm Welcome statement following Ofgem’s announcement of the new fuel price cap today.
Warm Welcome Campaign Director David Barclay said: “This will be devastating news for those people across the country who are already struggling with the cost of living and fuel poverty, and will mean that once again this winter we will see millions of people struggling to keep warm in their own homes.
“Whilst we need long-term solutions to tackle this issue, we are proud that our network of more than 4,000 Warm Welcome Spaces will once again open their doors this winter and provide places of warmth, friendship and belonging. Building this network is a vital part of how we can keep people warm and connected, and we want as many organisations to join us as possible to grow the Warm Welcome movement.”
We are encouraging as many community spaces as possible to register as a Warm Welcome Space for the coming winter. Just visit https://www.warmwelcome.uk/login and create an account to sign up. It’s easy, we have lots of support and resources available and there’s more information here https://www.warmwelcome.uk/about-us
